The Atlanta-Fulton County Recreation Authority (AFCRA) proudly announces the opening of its 2026 grant cycle. A board-led initiative, the AFCRA Play It Forward grant invests up to $25,000 or more in people, programs, and partnerships committed to making recreation, sports, and cultural activities more inclusive, empowering, and impactful across Atlanta and Fulton County.
Whether it’s helping to suit up a youth team, covering costs that keep kids off the sidelines, or supporting spaces where people gather, play, and grow, Play It Forward helps to remove barriers, increase access, and expand opportunity.
We believe that as a community when we play together, we stay together. We’re looking for changemakers who want to level the playing field, create connection, and build momentum.

Eligibility & Application
Eligibility & Application Information
Grants of up to $25,000 are available. To be considered, applicants must submit a completed application and meet all eligibility criteria.
Funding supports organizations, initiatives, and community-focused efforts that make sports, recreation, cultural enrichment, and wellness more inclusive, empowering, and impactful across Atlanta and Fulton County.
Projects must primarily benefit a charitable class—including youth, low-income individuals, people with disabilities, seniors, and communities with limited access to recreational resources—regardless of whether services are provided in public or privately operated facilities.
Both new applicants and previous grant recipients are eligible to apply.
Application Period:
October 1, 2025 – December 31, 2025
All applicants will be notified of their award status by March 31, 2026.
